Following the meeting of the National Advisory Committee on Ergonomics (NACE) last week in Washington, D.C., OSHA has released a public invitation for abstracts regarding current findings related to the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) for the NACE’s January, 2004 research symposium.
According to an OSHA press release, desired abstracts will focus on “data-driven scientific research concerning the relationship between the workplace and MSDs, such as definitions and diagnoses, cause and work-relatedness, exposure-response relationships, intervention studies, and study design (including research methodology).” OSHA requests that submissions should include “significant” references and be no more than 600 words.
The NACE was chartered in 2002 to advise OSHA on ergonomics-related issues. The research symposium is scheduled for January 27, 2004; abstract submission deadline is November 5, 2003. More information about submitting for the symposium is available at OSHA’s website at www.osha.gov.
